You’ll need a lightning-to-USB cable to connect your iPhone to a Dell laptop. The steps are as follows:
- Connect the lightning to the USB cable’s other end to a USB port on your Dell laptop and the other end to the USB port on your iPhone.
- When asked to trust the computer on your iPhone, tap “Trust.”
- Open the “File Explorer” software on your Dell laptop, then look under the “This PC” section for your iPhone. It should appear on the list of devices.
- To open the iPhone and access its files, double-click on it. Now, you can drag and drop files between your iPhone and your Dell laptop to transfer them between the two devices.
As an alternative, Bluetooth can be used to wirelessly connect your iPhone to your Dell laptop. You must pair the two devices and turn on Bluetooth for this to work.
- Go to the “Control Panel” on your Dell laptop and select “Hardware and Sound.”
- Then click “Add a Device” after selecting “Bluetooth Devices.”
- Go to “Settings” on your iPhone and select “Bluetooth.”
- Activate Bluetooth and confirm that your iPhone can be found.
- Choose your iPhone from the list of compatible devices on your Dell laptop, then click “Next.”
- When prompted, select “Pair” on your iPhone.
- If a PIN is requested, enter the one displayed on your Dell laptop and hit “Done.”
Bluetooth connection between your Dell laptop and iPhone should now be active. Using your Dell laptop’s Bluetooth File Exchange application, you can move files between the two devices.
